Founded on Ishigaki Island in 1955, Yaesen Distillery brings together time-honored craftsmanship and a spirit of innovation. We preserve traditional Awamori-making methods, including direct-fire pot distillation, while also pioneering long-term maturation in oak casks—an approach that has distinguished Yaesen for more than half a century.

Our diverse range includes Awamori made with rice grown on Ishigaki Island and habu-infused spirits featuring locally sourced red habu. Drawing on our expertise in fermentation and distillation, we also create wines, vinegars, and liqueurs. The YAESEN GIN series represents our latest exploration, showcasing island botanicals such as Pipatsu (Ishigaki Long Pepper) and expressing the natural character and culture of Ishigaki through a contemporary craft spirit.

Perched on a hill overlooking the sea, our distillery welcomes visitors to experience our craftsmanship amid the natural beauty of the island.

For over 70 years, Yaesen has been cherished by the people of Ishigaki Island. We invite you to discover the authentic flavors, heritage, and evolving spirit of Yaesen.
